Our story
Built on strength, honor & service
Army Strong Movers and Storage was founded on the same values that define military service — discipline, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve.

Who we are
Our mission
Our mission is simple: give every customer a moving experience that's stress-free, efficient, and handled with the utmost care. We treat your belongings as if they were our own, and we treat every move as a mission — planned, executed, and completed with precision.
We're owner-operated. Jonathan & Michael answer the phones, price the jobs, and show up on move mornings to make sure the crew has every blanket, dolly and roll of wrap they need. That's how a last-minute Richmond-to-New-Jersey pack gets done in 48 hours, and how a 650 lb refrigerator makes it down a staircase without a scratch.
“We don't just move boxes. We move lives forward.”

Field note 10
The truck your neighbors already recognize
No rented box trucks with peeling decals. This is our fleet, maintained by the same people who own the company, and it runs Virginia roads nearly every day of the week. When you see it on Broad Street or the Powhite, there's a family behind it getting handed keys to something new. Owner-operated means the man whose name is on the truck answers the phone — and often shows up in the morning with supplies before the crew starts, the way Jonathan did for Becky Shipp.

Behind the photos
The jobs that taught us how we work today
Fifteen years in Virginia homes leaves you with stories. These three shaped the way every Army Strong crew runs a move.

You watch. We work.
Field note 07
What it looks like from your window
This photo was taken by a customer standing in her own living room, watching two of our guys work her driveway. That's the vantage point we design the whole day around — you should be able to look out the window, see the pace, and stop worrying. Doorways get padded, floors get runners, and the lead checks in with you at load-out, at the halfway mark, and before we pull off. Donna Wells watched us sweep an entire empty truck days later to find one piece of daybed hardware.
Get this handled for you
Access is planned, not improvised.
Field note 08
Wooded lot, tight turn, deck full of furniture
Half of Central Virginia is gravel drives, low branches, and decks that were never designed to be emptied. So we scout access before move day: turn radius, overhead clearance, where the truck can back to, and how many feet the crew will carry. Getting the truck twenty feet closer saves an hour of walking — and an hour of walking is real money on an hourly move. When the truck genuinely cannot fit, we shuttle with the SUV and trailer instead of charging you for the difference.
Get this handled for you
One manifest, one crew, two halves.
Field note 09
The move that pauses in the middle
Closings slip. Deployments start. Renovations run long. This is a truck backing into storage because the second half of somebody's move was six weeks away. We inventory into the unit, keep the manifest, and bring the same crew back to load it out so nobody has to explain their own furniture twice. Marcus Whitfield's household sat with us for six weeks between Fort Gregg-Adams and Alexandria and came out exactly as it went in.
