Mover wrapping furniture

Our work

Straight from the job site

No stock trucks, no stock crews. These are our people, our equipment, and our loads on real Virginia moves.

The story behind the photo

Five photos, five real Virginia jobs

Every frame in the gallery above came off a job site. Here's what was actually happening in five of them — the access problems, the load plans, and the families on the other end.

Shrink-wrapped sofa and neatly stacked boxes inside an Army Strong moving truck

Tiered, strapped, void-filled.

A load plan you could read like a blueprint

Look at the wall of this truck: sofa shrink-wrapped and stood on end, boxes stacked heaviest-to-lightest, soft goods filling every void so nothing shifts on the interstate. A truck packed loose is a truck that arrives with broken corners. We build the load in tiers, strap every tier, and walk the deck before the door comes down. It's the same reason Sue M.'s Richmond apartment left on a Thursday and landed in New Jersey Saturday morning intact.

What it looks like from your window

This photo was taken by a customer standing in her own living room, watching two of our guys work her driveway. That's the vantage point we design the whole day around — you should be able to look out the window, see the pace, and stop worrying. Doorways get padded, floors get runners, and the lead checks in with you at load-out, at the halfway mark, and before we pull off. Donna Wells watched us sweep an entire empty truck days later to find one piece of daybed hardware.

Access is planned, not improvised.

Wooded lot, tight turn, deck full of furniture

Half of Central Virginia is gravel drives, low branches, and decks that were never designed to be emptied. So we scout access before move day: turn radius, overhead clearance, where the truck can back to, and how many feet the crew will carry. Getting the truck twenty feet closer saves an hour of walking — and an hour of walking is real money on an hourly move. When the truck genuinely cannot fit, we shuttle with the SUV and trailer instead of charging you for the difference.

One manifest, one crew, two halves.

The move that pauses in the middle

Closings slip. Deployments start. Renovations run long. This is a truck backing into storage because the second half of somebody's move was six weeks away. We inventory into the unit, keep the manifest, and bring the same crew back to load it out so nobody has to explain their own furniture twice. Marcus Whitfield's household sat with us for six weeks between Fort Gregg-Adams and Alexandria and came out exactly as it went in.

The truck your neighbors already recognize

No rented box trucks with peeling decals. This is our fleet, maintained by the same people who own the company, and it runs Virginia roads nearly every day of the week. When you see it on Broad Street or the Powhite, there's a family behind it getting handed keys to something new. Owner-operated means the man whose name is on the truck answers the phone — and often shows up in the morning with supplies before the crew starts, the way Jonathan did for Becky Shipp.
